Local children visit Mariner’s Quay site

Builders, Leadbitter, organised a series of site visits for children from two local primary schools in Pill. 240 children have visited the site to date, with more visits planned in March 2010. Leadbitter has also set up ‘construction corners’ at both schools.

The children learned about construction work and were educated about the dangers of playing in or near construction sites. They also participated in a health and safety poster competition, with winners receiving their prizes at their morning Assembly.

The children’s creativity and enthusiasm has prompted another competition – this time to name the streets and apartment blocks at Mariner’s Quay.
